American rapper Macklemore has been removed from the U.S. leg of Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour following his "Free Palestine" remarks during a September 4 concert at MetLife Stadium. Macklemore revealed on Instagram that he and Sheeran had engaged in a series of difficult discussions on the matter. 

The decision came after venue owners refused to host events that included Macklemore, according to tour promoter Messina Touring Group. Though Sheeran has not publicly commented, the Israeli-American Council had previously launched a petition urging Macklemore’s removal, citing his longstanding criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza and the West Bank
